Winter is here and that means you have new outdoor activities to enjoy! We have mentioned sleigh rides, skiing and now ice skating! So depeding on the day you choose to venture out on the ice, and where you're venturing (a lake, city rink or indoor ice rink) you'll want to be warm & comfortable to show off your moves! For Jessica's and Linnea's ice skating look they chose warm faux fur vests with comfortable sweaters & leggings. Add more layers depending on the weather and location! You can always add cute earmuffs & scarfs for more color and variety! Enjoy your winter activities!
Heading up to the slopes now that the new year is almost upon us? While you're skiing, or hanging out in the lodge, you'll want to keep your style on point! Bold prints and warm winter textures will make sure you're stylish and prepared for the ski weekend!
Here are a few suggestions to keep your winter style strong:
Whether it's a first date or a date night with the hubby it's nice to add a little mystery and spiciness to your look for that element of excitement! This is easily achieved with color selection for both fashion and makeup. Deep purples and dark reds are a trend this season that we LOVE! A sweater dress with leggings is a perfect dressy yet casual choice that you can either glam up or tone down with you accessories, jacket, shoes and makeup choices. It is a must-have clothing staple! To not overwhelm the outfit and distract attention away from you, make sure you wear solid colors if you plan to accessorize.
Jessica (pictured above) likes to add a pop of color to this outfit with her necklace accessory that adds a bit of turquoise, which complements the deep plum/wine colors.
If eyes are the windows to the soul, don't cover up that soul in too much makeup! Go with a non-threatening neutral eye and add bold lips. The dark and mysterious bold lip will really add a romantic deviance that will drive them crazy. Lipstick on a first date is a good rule to have because if you don't like the person there is no threat of a goodnight kiss for fear of getting it all over them. If you do like them, no problem, not kissing on the first date will only have them coming back for more...just make sure to wear lip balm for the 2nd date :)
Here is what we recommend for date night makeup:
Stylish sweaters are a must have for the winter (especially if you live somewhere with weather like Maine). Finding chic sweaters is not that difficult if you know what you're looking for. A flattering, fitted cut with a polished material will usually get you to a chic sweater! I love long sweaters with a cowl-neck collar; the sweater carries the outfit on it's own with a style like this and it's very warm! Pair the sweater with dark jeans or leggings for a simple & stylish winter outfit. You can also easily dress your sweater up with some statement accessories!
