As many of you might have heard, the Pantone Color of 2014 has been announced - Radiant Orchid. To celebrate the new color of the year, I wanted to dedicate a style post with fabulous items all in Radiant Orchid. This was my intention, but it proved a little more difficult for me than I anticipated. Not because there weren't enough options out there, but purple, in many shades & tints, just isn't my color. I don't really wear bright colors, it's just not me. So while I was trying to put a post together, I wasn't liking what I was coming up with. But then I realized I wasn't approaching this in a way that I can offer any good advice on the color. So instead, I'm showing you a style idea in a sense that I might wear it. I wear a lot of black, it's almost like my power color, but while having said that, I am all for the pops of color in an outfit! So this is how I will approach Radiant Orchid in 2014, with pops of color. Even though the Radiant Orchid may seem a bit overwhelming for a few of you, no need to shy away from the color this year. There are still many ways you can incorporate pieces into your style. And hey, don't get me wrong, if you can rock out all shades of Radiant Orchid, go for it! But here is one style suggestion for those like me, who need to ease into the new color for 2014.
I stayed with my basic black for a shirt & clutch. But then I found this awesome skirt on Piperlime that patterns dark blue, black, and radiant orchid. So the basic outfit is rather dark, but throw on those bright shoes from J.Crew and you'll really have your pop of color that ties in well with the skirt. Softer small studs from Kate Spade complete the radiant orchid touches in this outfit from head to toe!
