When I think face masques I think of high school and sleepovers. It’s just one of those ingredients that go into the recipe for an awesome girl’s night, but to be honest, when I graduated high school I somehow moved away from doing regular face masques. They all of a sudden seemed tedious and silly to do on your own, not to mention I didn't feel like I could find one that would actually help my super sensitive skin. That was until I heard about Clayspray. First off, they come in adorable easy to use spray bottles that are definitely travel ready which makes these face masques incredibly convenient for those women on the go.

Clayspray H2O Water Spray 3.18.14 Certified FabulousSo for my pampering night I started with the Hydrate H2O Water Spray which you spray on your face before applying the masque. This “mineral rich mountain spring water” helps to instantly moisten your skin before applying the masque and although seemed silly at first I think it definitely helped the effectiveness of the product. I now couldn't imagine putting a masque on without the instant moisture by Clayspray.

For my masque, I used Glow Red Clay with cacao which once I started putting on my face instantly smelled like amazing chocolate. I covered my face, making sure to coat my problem areas more carefully and then let it set. It dried pretty quickly, less than ten minutes and then I went to wash it off with hot water. Once I removed the entire masque I went back and sprayed the instant moisture H2O spray onto my skin. After the masque, my face felt tight and dry but I didn't want to use my normal moisturizer as I wanted to see what the red clay did to my skin over night. So with a few sprays of the mineral water on my face I went to bed.

Clayspray Glow Red Clay Masque 3.18.14 Certified FabulousWhen I woke up the next morning, I was not disappointed. To say I had excellent skin the week I tried this masque would be irrational. Just like any girl from time to time I have my skin issues and this week was not kind to me. However, after doing the red clay masque it was like the problem areas shrunk away. Even though I felt like my skin was tight the night before, when I woke up the next morning I could see why. I just applied my morning moisturizer and it felt like I was back to my fresh faced self.

So from high school to working woman I guess the story here is that it’s okay to invest in a face masque and you don’t need a girl’s night to do it. And although the treatment will be spaced out, this red clay definitely helped and improved my skin when I needed it most. I think we forget sometimes that our bodies and skin need some extra help, we are not machines. And this living and breathing shell of ourselves that is our skin needs some revitalizing sometimes. Clayspray helped my skin take a break and rejuvenate when it needed it most so I’ll absolutely be building this into my weekly routine.

What is it about that glow? I've been trying a lot of products this summer, and one theme that keeps coming up, week after week, is the glowing skin. Whether it's from prodcts that will refine and renew your skin, or makeup products that give you a little bit of a sun-kissed glimmer. I have stayed away from the shimmers in the past, but I've found some great products that allow for a softer, natural look and have been awesome additions to my makeup collection!

beautyADDICTS sleeks cheeks glow 8.8.13For beautyADDICTS week, I tried another product with some shimmer to it, and I was surprised at how it worked. That is, the beautyADDICTS SleekCHEEKS in Glow. This is a weightless crème-to-powder blush with two color options - you have the ultra sheer light pink/cream and a darker bronzy pink. I wasn't really sure how to use this product at first, and I don't usually wear blush, so I was experimenting a little bit. I first tried to use a brush to apply it, but since it's a crème-to-powder, the brush did not pick up the blush well. So it was best to blend in with my fingers and add more as desired. I appreciated that I could use a little at first, and then build up from there. It was great to use the top lighter color for highlighting, and the shimmer was more subtle than I thought it would be, creating a soft, natural glow rather than bold shimmer. You can easily put on alittle for work, and amp up the shimmer for the night!

You can pick up your own beautyADDICTS SleekCHEEKS blush for $28!

Shimmer makeup can create a completely different look, or a subtle natural glow that you can have year round!

Summer beauty is all about that glowing look! We all want soft, silky, radiant skin! But for some of us pale ones, it can be a little harder to achieve the sun-kissed glowing confidence. That's where makeup comes in! I'll admit I don't use bronzer often; I feel that most of them look unnatural on my skin, but with the right type of face powder, I can have that radiant summer look in no time!

Too Faced Sweetheart Beads 7.16.13 bCertified FabulousWhen I first saw Too Faced's Sweetheart Beads Radiant Glow Face Powder I was very intrigued...not by the colors it contained, but how it was packaged. In a round, prettily decorated, container loosely sits heart shaped powder beads! Bronze, pink, natural, and golden beads! How do I use this? Was my first question...then does it work? What's the ultimate effect? Do I use the colors together? Separately? With a brush? Many questions followed as I had never seen this type of makeup before! I decided this would be best used with a brush, after all it is a powder. So I tried a blush brush - this was a little too weak to pick up the color. So next, I found that it works best with a brush that is a little firmer. I used a Chisel brush that I have for another powder foundation. Too Faced offers a few brushes on their website and tell you which one works best for the type of product you want to use, so if you need any brush suggestions, be sure to check out their site!

Since I didn't really know how to use this product, I looked it up. The product descriptions states that "the heart bead colors work together to create the perfect combination of color, coverage and glow for a healthy radiance." So I started by swirling my brush around all the beads. No need to be gentle with the brush, these beads don't crumble! You need a little firmness to pick up the color. I used this powder all around my face, focusing more on my cheeks. It creates a very light shimmery layer, which is nice for just a little hint of the desired summer glow. The shimmer really stands out when you catch the light! But it also can easily build up to a stronger glow by applying more powder. I like having this type of control with my makeup. I can build it up as much or as little as I like, depending on my mood. This powder is very easy to use (once I got past the bead shock), and it definitely gave my pale skin a much needed glowing enhancement, very much so the "healthy radiance" the product description states. I also liked how it was elegantly shimmery rather than sparkly. I did not want to look like I brushed pink sparkles all over my face! I was surprised by how much I like this product, how well it blended, how the colors work so well together, and how the effect was spot on with the description. This will be my go to makeup product on those bleak days when my skin needs more of a pick me up and a healthy glow boost!

Too Faced Sweetheart Beads Radiant Glow Face Powder retails at $32.00

Too Faced HighIf you want more of that bead glow, splurge with Guerlains Météorites Perles du Paradise at $70. These "legendary magic pearls illuminate your skin with a beautiful radiance" and work with any skin tone  I have used other products from Guerlain (Colour Laquer) and I absolutely love the quality and results.

Happy Wednesday Fabulous Readers!

Oddly enough I have the pleasure to write to you all on my birthday! So I figured why not tell you guys about a "birthday cake" kind of sweet 5 minute makeover :)

eye-make-up-inspiration

I most often play the role of dark and mysterious because I have dark hair and love dark eye makeup so it's just easy for me to fit into that mode. This is great for night looks when I go to events or meet friends for a night on the town, but sometimes us "night owls" need a little sunshine. Sure there is something intriguing and sexy about a dark and mysterious woman, but I also find that men love "the girl next door", innocently sweet look too. Since it's my birthday, I decided why not have my cake and eat it too?? Today I breakdown how to get the "I'm an angel" makeup look in 5 minutes.

A trend that I loved seeing in 2012 was the natural makeup looks and bold blush and/or lips. Not only did it look romantic but it barely took any time to create! All you need to do is apply your foundation as usually, or sweep a powder all over your face (if you are lucky enough to have flawless skin). Add a touch of white shadow (matte or shimmer) to your inner eye corners and below your eyebrows on the brow-bone. If you want a little more on the eyes (don't do too much!) sweep a light brown (or any neutral shade) on lid and blend. Apply a few coats of lengthening mascara.

Winter is upon us! In fact, here in the east coast we now have snow on the ground! Just because it's winter though I don't want to look like I have flat, dull winter skin...so my product love I turn to for a glowing appearance is Benefit: "that gal" brightening face primer.

benefit-cosmetics-that-gal finalOh Benefit, you have done it again...can you make a bad product?? I probably have your whole collection in my house...and without a doubt I never think twice when I need something to give my face a vibrate glow because "that gal" is the ultimate! It's an ideal face primer because it is not slippery or greasy feeling like most makeup primers. It actually feels like a lotion and has a gorgeous pink hue that glides onto the face and blends in perfectly. Once you apply your foundation the glow is subtle and just the right amount of sheen to look healthy and not over done.

The packaging is an easy twist up tube/bottle that releases product through a bunch of holes on the top. This is great to swipe a finger over it to get the product and put on your face or sweep directly on your face in a sanitized fashion...no dirty fingers in a jar.

Something new that I found at The Makeup Show in Orlando, Florida I just brought home with me is a skin Cara finalshimmer from the brand CARA. CARA has an amazing luminous glow shimmer (I have the "atlantis" color) that goes on so easy, smooth and super light weight! When I applied this to my skin I instantly and naturally was glowing! I'm obsessed with this stuff! I am confident that I will look glamorous all winter :)

The packaging is very beautiful and almost like a nail polish with a spatula applicator, which is great to transfer to your hand or face for direct application. You can use this alone or under foundation and it can also be applied on the body. It's perfect as a cheekbone highlighter too! So many different ways to use this product to keep you looking healthy no matter what the winter will throw at you. I am SO happy I found out about this brand and this product. They also have a bunch of other lovely cosmetic products and perfect shades for bridal makeup. (www.caracosmetics.com) I will be sure to keep you updated on this brand and their product line.
