As you change your makeup style this fall, there are a few items that you'll want to keep consistent and keep on hand throughout the season.
It's always important to keep your lips moisturized, no matter what season it is. But as you start to wear bolder, darker, perhaps matte lipstick, you'll want a good lip balm to ensure a smooth lip surface! I suggest applying a thicker lip balm at night before bed so that your lips are smooth, moisturized, and lipstick ready come morning! Try Waxelene - the petroleum jelly alternative. Made from Organic Soy Oil, Beeswax, Organic Rosemary Oil, and Natural Vitamin E (from soybeans), Waxelene is a rich lip balm without petroleum or artificial ingredients. You can also apply this to your hands or any dry spots on your skin. It's thick texture makes this the perfect night treatment and with natural ingredients, you can feel good about using this over and over again. If you're a devoted user of petroleum jelly, I recommend giving this natural alternative a try, you won't be disappointed!
If you're like me, you'll start wearing more makeup come the fall season. I like to keep my makeup light during the summer months, but come fall I love to play with more eyeliner, lipsticks, blush and makeup in general! So to ensure my makeup stays on and looking fresh, I start with Skindinavia Makeup Primer. This makeup spray primer is silicone free and creates a light, breathable barrier between your skin and makeup. Makeup will go on smoother and last longer with this primer used before makeup application. You can easily mist this primer over your skin, or brush it on. It also helps to prevent redness, uneven skin tone and large pores. Another way to help your skin before applying makeup, and to keep your makeup looking flawless all day and/or night long!
Last but not least, nail polish. Whether you like a more subtle touch to your outfit, or you all about the bold nail colors, its always good to keep a couple neutrals on hand for the fall season. Nude goes with so many styles and is a great fall color. Right now I have a couple Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquers that work great for the fall. C&E Almond for a darker, beige nail color and C&E Peaches for a lighter but still neutral/pink color. With two coats, this nail polish leaves an even and consistent finish. The brush is also thicker and sturdy, making it easy to apply the nail polish. I am not a fan of those thin and flimsy brushes! So whether I'm feel like using a brighter neutral, or a more subdued nude, I'm all set with C&E for this fall!
